After a screening of the short documentary, Don't Lose Your Soul: The Music of Anthony Brown and Mark Izu (CAAM) at the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF), Director Ron Buscher invited Anthony Brown's Asian American Jazz Trio (AAJ3) to perform at PAAFF's inaugural First Fridays event, ASIA FANTASIA! to celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month at the Barnes Foundation. A capacity crowd attended the performances of the AAJ3 and heard original compositions by Brown and Izu, as well as a set of music by Philadelphia's most celebrated Jazz musician, John Coltrane in honor of his 90th birthday.
